If you are tired of the same old same old movies that play at the local cinema, it may be time for you to join in on the film festival circuit. Film festivals not only display films that have yet to reach theaters, but independent and foreign films you’d probably never hear about outside of film festivals. One of the larger festivals in the United States is the Palm Springs Film Festival. The 2012 Palm Springs International Film Festival begins on January and runs until the 16th of the month.

When attending the 2012 Palm Springs Film Festival you have a few different viewing options. You can either select the movie(s) you want to view or opt for a festival pass. These passes give you access to all of the movies throughout the entire duration of the festival. As long as you have the pass, you can enter and exit films at your liking, even if the specific screening is completely sold out. If you want to possibly mingle with celebrities and individuals that helped make the movie you can purchase awards gala tickets. These tickets give you access to the award ceremony at the end of the festival and rub shoulders with the winners at a nightly party after the awards. There are several different awards available during the festival, including best foreign film, student, cinematography and the top prize: best of the Palm Springs International Film Festival.
