Things to do in Palm Springs in August and Fall
There are a lot of things to do in Palm Springs in the Fall. The first thing is to go to the tribute to Elvis. The tribute to Elvis is when Ted Torres is a singer from Orlando, Florida dresses up like Elvis. He sings some of Elvis’s most famous songs. The second thing to do in Palm Spring is Idyllwild Jazz in the Pines. Idyllwild Jazz in the Pines is an event that focuses on the art of jazz music. It is done every year to help raise money for scholarships for the Idyllwild Arts Academy and Summer Program. It starts off with the Patron’s Dinner Dance.
The third thing to do in Palm Springs is attend the annual First Fridays event. This is when all of the local stores hold a open house on the first Friday of August. This is when the shops in the historic district of Palm Springs holds an open house. The fourth thing in Palm Springs to do is the International Hispanic Film Festival of Palm Springs. The International Hispanic Film Festival of Palm Springs is when The Camelot Theaters host a lot of screenings of the latest Hispanic films. They even play movies that are produced by Hispanic film companies.
The fifth thing to do in Palm Springs is to attend bike weekend. Bikeweekend is the place to be if you are a biker. There are stunt shows and some great live entertainment. Palm Springs has a perfect setting for a ride because of its beautiful views of the mountains. The sixth thing to do in Palm Springs is to go to the Golf Cart Parade. The Golf Cart Parade is when people decorate their golf carts for a parade. The parade also has marching bands and people in costumes.
The seventh thing to do in Palm Springs is to participate in the annual Desert Aids Walk. The Desert Aids Walk is hold in the beautiful Ruth Hardy Park. Everyone is invited to join the walk and this year people will be walking down the same roads that some famous people like Cary Grant, Bing Crosby, Dinah Shore,and Grace Kelly have also walked down. You are not required to walk a certain distance and there will be water stations set up throughout the path. But the path is only 2 miles. Lunch is also provided for the walkers after the walk is over.
