Palm Springs TramwayPalm Springs Tramway is considered the world’s largest rotating Tram car, a one-of-a-kind experience that offers a 10 minute ride starting with an elevation of 2,643 ft. and ends at the Mountain Station: elevation 8,516 ft. No matter what the season, this is a perfect gateway to the Santa Rosa and San Jacinto Mountains National Monument traversing the southerly side of the Coachella Valley. Many call it an “Aerial Experience” the tram car has a rotating floor that makes two complete revolutions during each trip, allowing passengers to soak up the views from every direction.

The temperature differential between the valley floor and the top of the Tram is usually about 30 degrees. With more than 50 miles of walking trails are available; whether you are hiking or enjoying the spectacular views from the Lookout Lounge combined with delicious food provide the perfect dining experience. There are two dining options at the top of the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway: Peaks, a fine dining experience with a breathtaking view of the Coachella Valley and Pines Café, a cafeteria-style restaurant. Palm Springs VillageFest – Downtown Street Fair

Every Thursday evening, downtown Palm Springs transforms into the very famous    Palm Springs VillageFest, also known as the Palm Springs Street Fair.

VillageFest offers a diverse array of artists, artisans, entertainers, and purveyors of fresh fruits and veggies, flowers, jewelry, snacks and sweets. Add all that to the great shops, restaurants, clubs, and entertainment venues located along World Famous Palm Canyon Drive – and the result is one of Southern California’s most popular weekly events: VillageFest!

Villagefest started more than 20 years ago and is consistently voted the best event in the area, attracting thousands of visitors each week. This event is dog friendly and many shops, galleries, and restaurants stay open late along Palm Canyon Drive.

When visiting Palm Springs you don’t need to spend a fortune to keep yourselves entertained during your holiday.  This desert oasis is filled with beauty, activities and attractions for you to enjoy completely free of charge.

Of course there is lying by the pool and soaking up the sun, no one can charge you for that, but this area has so much to offer and so much to show you that getting out and about ensures you don’t miss a single thing on offer.

Start by visiting the Coachella Valley. Here you can go hiking, take leisurely walks or bicycle along the many tracks as you gaze at the picturesque scenery with loads of photo opportunities.

Villagefest is a fun Street fair which takes place on Palm Canyon Drive every Thursday evening. The street becomes alive with food, arts, crafts, musicians and a farmers market.

Palm Springs also has some lovely parks where you can go as a family, enjoy some fun games and have a quiet and relaxing picnic under the trees. A wonderful way to spend a warm day when visiting this oasis in the desert.
